Amazing art of leaf carvings

The amazing art Leaf carving originated in China. Skilled artists carve detailed portraits and pictures on the leaves of the Chinar tree. The Chinar tree is native of India, Pakistan and China. The entire process of the art consists of sixty steps such as pressing, curing, shaving, dying etc. The outer surface of the leaves are removed with specially hand crafted tools, leaving the vein of the leaf intact. The artist carefully carves an image on the leaf by hand. The final product is strong, durable, natural and beautiful, which can be gifted or collected as show pieces.
